At0m Zer0 Development Blog

  • In June of 2021 I built a computer with the goal of learning as much as I could about programming and development tools.
  • In July of 2022 I joined a small team and started building a game. Started learning more about game development and computer programming through online sources such as Udemy, Zenva, and Youtube.
  • In August of 2023 I decided to make things official by returning to school to pursue a degree in Programming for Electronic Gaming.

Over the past few years I’ve documented everything I’ve learned and the projects I’ve been working on, so that I can build an archive and a place to share with anyone else who may find this helpful.

Check back weekly for updates on programming projects, digital art, game development, and more!

I’ve decided to create my own take on several old arcade classics. Using Pygame with Python I’m attempting my first of the series Pong. The goal is for each new programming language or game engine I learn I’ll be creating a different arcade game.

Objective Impact: A Python Text Adventure Game

Constructing a Python-based text adventure game, drawing inspiration from titles such as Sorcery! and Disco Elysium. I delve into the intricacies of crafting game mechanics and systems tailored for interactive fiction, while attempting to create a captivating narrative.

Sick Fish Studios: Game Maker Studio 2

Using Game Maker Studio 2 to build a game from scratch. I’ll be exploring building a level from scratch, combat creating, environment details, networking for multiplayer on steam, and more!

Programming for Electronic Gaming

This project is actually a degree when it’s done. I’ll be posting different projects and subjects I explore while I attend Macomb Community College for a degree in Programming for Electronic Gaming.

2D/3D Art & Animation

In this series I explore topics related to pixel art, 2D/3D animation, 2D design, and 3D modeling. I discuss the various tools I utilize and the new methods I’m adopting to breathe life into my ideas. The modern world offers a plethora of tools and resources that aid in honing my artistic and design skills, and I’ll be posting about them here.
